Rock anchors up to 6m in length are being used to stabilise the upstream rock slope of the Klepsydra Spring House on the north face of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece as part of a major restoration project.
The spring house was first built in 460BC to collect rainwater from the slopes of the Acroplis as a water supply and historic records show that landslides and rockfalls have affected the structure since its construction.
Work is underway using resin bonded Grip Bar rock anchors supplied by Stainless UK to try and halt the instability in the area around the spring house and preserve the historic structure.
