Statoil and Statkraft have appointed Atkins to undertake design and engineering services, including a monopile foundation solution, for its Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm.
Atkins has said that it has already started on the geotechnical engineering aspects of the 400MW wind farm, which is located off the Norfolk coast.
“This contract win further builds on our established position as a leading engineering consultancy in the offshore wind sector,” said Atkins managing director for renewables David Parkin. “The project plays to our strengths in geotechnical and offshore structural engineering.”
Atkins has said that installation work could start in 2015, however, Statoil and Statkraft are due to make a final investment decision on the scheme in the third quarter of this year
