Feasibility work for Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm starts

A consortium of Iberdrola and Eole-Res has announced the start of two geotechnical and geophysical feasibility investigations in the Bay of Saint Brieuc to provide foundation information for a new offshore wind farm.

The consortium, which operates under the name of Ailes Marines, has appointed GeoSea to undertake the studies in the French-owned water of the Engish Channel. The surveys involve a topographical seabed survey and a geotechnical investigation that will include boreholes drilled to 30m below seabed level to provide parameters for the foundation design, which is expected to use a jacket solution.
