Ground investigation starts for A77 upgrade

Transport Scotland has confirmed that Amey started work on the ground investigation for the A77 Symington and Bogend Toll improvements scheme today.

The information gathered during the investigation will be used in the design of new grade separated junctions and upgrade of a 7.3km section of the A77, which is a key link in Ayrshire, providing connections with Glasgow and the M77 and carries around 34,000 vehicles a day.

Work on the ground investigation is expected to take two weeks and will be carried out during off-peak lane closures on the northbound A77 carriageway.
