Grout curtain construction starts at Wimbleball dam

Water supplies for South West Water and Wessex Water customers will be safeguarded by work currently underway to strengthen the dam at Wimbleball Lake in Somerset.

Bachy Soletanche has started work on grouting trials for construction of a new grout curtain from the landside and top of the 50m high dam to prevent water flows through the bedrock.

The grouting trials are expected to take three months to complete and the main work is scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
