Itmsoil has started work on installing instrumentation at the construction site of the new Crossrail Woolwich station box ahead of the main excavation phase.
Working for excavation contractor O’Keefe Construction, Itmsoil is supplying164 strain gauges along with inclinometer casings. The monitoring system will be used to check for movement in the diaphragm walls – constructed by Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering – as excavation at the site progresses.
