£4.4M German ground investigation contracts up for grabs

European electricity system operator Tennet is seeking contractors to carry out ground investigation across Germany for construction projects.

In papers published on Official Journal of the European Union, the company states it is seeking subsoil survey and ground survey contractors for overhead line and cable construction projects the country.

Divided into six lots, the €5M (£4.4M) framework covers preliminary investigation of the route of the cables and overhead lines from a geological, geotechnical, hydrological and pedological point of view.

In particular Tennet would like verification of the route or choice of location with regard to the ground conditions, as well as a determination of preliminary subsoil characteristics, foundation recommendations and research and evaluation of existing foundation documents of neighbouring line, substation and wind power plants.

Interested parties can bid for more than one lot and bundle up the work. The framework will start in July 2019.
