Can Geotechnical has said that the A465 Head of the Valley road scheme in South Wales has become the largest project the business has ever delivered.

The dualling scheme is expected to significantly improve its safety, shorten journey times, generally improve transport links in the region.

The company started working as a subcontractor to main contractor Costain on the scheme in September 2015 and work is expected to continue through this year.

To date, Can says that it has undertaken almost 98km of drilling, installed nearly 14,000 soil nails and around 47,000m2 of rock netting and injected over 1.3M litres of grout.
