Clugston Construction has awarded Aarsleff Ground Engineering the piling contract for an extension to a distribution centre in Hull.

The 20,000m² extension will double safety wear’s Arco current warehousing and logistics capacity.

For the £25M project, Aarsleff is installing over 3000 No. precast concrete pile, 250 and 350mm, up to 21m in length with their Junttan Pmx22 and Banut 700 rigs.

Currently, Aarsleff are on site with four rigs and a 70t hydraulic crawler crane.

Aarsleff project manager Syed Ali said: “We have benefitted from a thorough preliminary trial piling exercise carried out on site in early April ahead of the main works to provide the information required by Clugston Construction’s consulting engineers to design the overall pile layout.”

Completion date is expected in mid-July, with the new facility is set open in the summer of 2019.
