Aces Dubai was been awarded the geotechnical works for the Etihad Rail Network project.
Etihad Rail’s project is a 1,200km network that will extend across the United Arab Emirates, from the border of Saudi Arabia to the border of Oman.
The scope of geotechnical works consists of drilling of 361 onshore boreholes of between 10m to 40m below existing ground level and drilling of two offshore boreholes up to 40 m depth below seabed level.
In addition Aces will undertake the excavation of 201 trial pits up to 3m depth and conduct field testing including falling head test in soil overburden, double packer test in rock, cone penetration test, installation of piezometers, plate load test and field CBR.
The scope of work also includes laboratory testing and factual reporting.
The client is Etihad Rail and the consultant is CH2M Hill International.
