Aces secures Jordan rail link ground investigation

Aces Jordan has announced that it has been awarded a contract for the site investigation for Aqaba Coastal Railway corridor which is part of Phase I of the main Jordan National Railway project.

The new rail link will connect Jordan’s industrial cities and logistical centres and also provide connections to neighbouring countries.

The current ground investigation for consultant Dar Al-Handasah is focused on a 28km section of the new rail line starting from Wadi Al Youtom and runs parallel to the coast road to end at the new southern port.

The scope of the work includes 117 boreholes to depths ranging from 20m to 40m with insitu and laboratory testing and installation of piezometers, as well as 25 trial pits to 5m depth.
