Bauer awarded piling contract in South Asia

Bauer has won the piling contract for a hydroelectric power plant in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The contract award for the Punatsangchhu I project follows Bauer’s completion of cut-off walling works for the power plant’s dam in 2012.

As part of the piling project, Bauer will drill approximately 140 foundation piles and 38 secant piles with a diameter of 2m and a depth of up to 65m to stabilise an adjacent slope.

The €9M (£6.6M) project will start in October, with completion scheduled for mid-2016.
