Bauer completes Indonesian airport geotech scheme

Bauer has announced that it has successfully completed ground improvement work for a new taxiway at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Completion of the work clears the way for construction of a new link between link within the airport’s eastern airfield to allow it to meet rising passenger demand.

Bauer Pratama Indonesia carried out the work on the East Connection Taxiway Phase 1 project for main contractor Hutama Karya and followed on from a scheme for a secondary apron previously delivered by the partnership.

Bauer undertook full displacement columns to depths of between 5m and 16m across a 199,000m2 area and installed 1,072 1.2m diameter rotary bored piles to depths of up to 37m for taxiway bridges.

The ground engineering work was completed in eight months.
