Bauer debuted its new GB 80 S hydraulic grab system and the BCS 40 cutter system on its stand at Bauma China.
According to Bauer, the GB 80 S grab system is a perfect combination of tried-and-tested GB series carriers and state-of-the-art DHG V grabs.
Bauer Machinen chairman of the management board Dieter Stetter said: “The new generation GB 80 S has been developed to master the increasingly complex working conditions on diaphragm wall construction sites.” Stetter believes that the new machine creates a new performance class.
Bauer has said that its engineers worked closely with customers and partners during the development to maximise efficiency without adding complexity. The result is a grab that can excavate trenches up to 1,800mm wide to depths of up to 80m.
The new BCS 40 cutter is designed for cutting depths of up to 40m and, Bauer has said that thanks to its compact design, it is ideal for inner-city areas. The company has said that the cutter system combines three of Bauer’s long-established systems for the first time: the BC 32 trench cutter, the HSS 40 hose guide system and the MT 120 carrier.
Bauer said that the first cutter systems of this type have already been successfully tested and been in use in China since early this year.
