Bauer to sell off Pileco hammer brand

Bauer’s equipment business Bauer Maschinen has announced that it is to sell its diesel hammer product line and brand name to China-based Wang.

“This profitable sale was a logical step,” said Bauer Maschinen member of the management board Christian Gress.

Bauer said that the product no longer suited the company’s overall portfolio and also cited developments in the US diesel hammer sector as a driver behind the sell off but it plans to keep part of the US business under a new name

Gress added that the Texas-based subsidiary of Bauer Maschinen will remain part of the company and will operate under the name of Bauer Equipment America. Gress said that the business will be “an important base for the sale of Bauer’s entire range of specialist foundation engineering equipment in North America”.

“We are convinced that, together with our colleagues in the US, we will be able to continue our business under the new name with continued increasing success,” said Gress.
