Berry secures Camden Lock piling contract

Berry Piling has been appointed by Mace to carry out secant piling work at Camden Lock Village in London.

Berry will install 450mm diameter piles to form a secant wall below a number of railway viaduct arches off Kentish Town Road to create retaining structures for the excavation of service trenches.

Negotiations between Mace and Network Rail to gain consent for this work has taken 18 months, which Berry has said highlights the difficulties of the project.

“Access and head room in the rail viaduct arches is a particularly challenging element of the project,” said Berry Piling contracts manager James Downing.
