Brenner Base Tunnel seeks geophysics groundwater partner

Italy-based Galleria di Base del Brennero Brenner Basistunnel has started the search for a three year geophysics partner for groundwater monitoring on the rail tunnel scheme.

The Brenner Base Tunnel project achieved the last drill and blast breakthrough on the Tulfes-Pfons section of the exploratory tunnel last month

According to the tender documents published in the Official Journal of the European Union, the focus of the work will be measuring groundwater levels through down hole geophysical techniques.

The document state that the borehole-based geophysics measurements will include experimental design, evaluation, interpretation and presentation of the measurement results.

Galleria di Base del Brennero Brenner Basistunnel estimates that the work is valued at €415,000 (£356,000).

Bids for the work must be submitted by 12 April.
