Call for Norwegian rail GI bids

Norway’s rail infrastructure operator Bane Nor has launched a search for a ground investigation contractor for its 22.5km Sørli-Åkersvika-Hamar dual track project.

According to the announcement in the Official Journal of the European Union, the work is expected to start in October and be completed by the end of the year.

The ground investigation will be used for the design the project to upgrade the Sørli-Åkersvika-Hamar line to double track by 2026. Bane Nor has said that it expects the regulatory planning for the start of construction to be completed by autumn next year.

Bane Nor has said that the new railway will cross farmland, through densely populated areas, and cross protected protected wetland areas. The project includes construction of a new station.

Potential partners must submit bids for the work by 11 October.
