Cathie Associates signs Korean wind agreement

Geotechnical engineering consultant Cathie Associates has signed a memorandum of understanding with Blue Wind Energy (BWE) to cooperate on expanding in the South Korean offshore wind business.

The two companies have previously worked together on a subsea cable market and Cathie said that the agreement would see the continuation of sharing knowledge that would benefit both businesses.

“Offshore wind in South Korea is set to grow and it is a key market for us,” Cathie Associates co-managing director Robin Comrie. “As South Korea aims to triple the share of renewables in its power mix by 2030, we hope to play a role in the offshore wind sector growth in the region.

“We are happy to have partnered with BWE as this provides us with a unique opportunity to bring our 40GW of offshore wind engineering expertise to South Korea. Having previously worked with BWE, we know that both companies are focussed on providing an innovative, high value and cost-effective solutions to South Korean clients.”
