Cormac Solutions has been appointed to undertake the ground investigations at the site for the proposed Stadium for Cornwall.
Starting on Monday 13 August, drilling work will take around four weeks at the Threemilestone site in Truro.
Reporting of the findings will be presented in October to allow for design assumptions for the retaining wall and building foundations design to be confirmed.
The project was recently awarded £3M by Cornwall Council towards its estimated £10M cost.
The Stadium for Cornwall construction project manager Tim Wood said: “The ground investigation is an important milestone as it will confirm our foundation design assumptions and allow us to complete the design sufficient to work to discharge planning conditions.
“I am pleased this work will be undertaken by Cormac Solutions, a local company which has the specialist capability and experience to support the Stadium for Cornwall whilst keeping the money within the local economy.”
When complete the proposed 10,000 capacity stadium will be shared by Truro City Football Club, The Cornish Pirates and Truro and Penwith College.
