Costa Rican artificial island container terminal opens

Van Oord has reported that the APM Terminals Moín container terminal it built in Costa Rica on an artificial island with Bam International has been officially opened.

Development of the US$1bn (£759M) facility which has capacity to handle 26,000 TEU containers called for 40ha of land reclamation and construction of a 650m long quay wall.

To mark the inauguration, Van Oord has released a video showing the scale of the construction work for the scheme.
