Crop challenge for Keller

Keller has started work on ground engineering for a new green energy plant in Lincolnshire with a deadline that could change with the weather.

Work on Material Change’s anaerobic digestion plant near Spalding has been scheduled to ensure the civils works are completed in time for this year’s harvest so Keller must complete its work by the end of June.

According to Keller, the high load of the tanks combined with soft alluvial material over stiff Lias Clays meant that there was a high risk of settlement to the sensitive tanks, so piled foundation are being used. In order to fast track the work Keller is using a bottom feed vibro stone column on less sensitive structures and this work is being undertaken in tandem with the piling operations.
