The touch screen datalogger was developed for the horizontal drilling industry but DAT Instruments believes it has benefits for the whole ground engineering industry

According to DAT, the WideLog was developed for horizontal drilling customers to help them with record different parameters and to display them simultaneously on the screen.

The 410mm by 230mm colour touch screen datalogger can be configured to show graphs, numerical values, needle indicators and everything is necessary to the operator to execute with high precision in a clear and detailed way all drilling and grouting phase.

DAT has said that the datalogger is weather resistant and can be used while wearing gloves. The system has a large internal memory and is solid state to add to the robust design which has a stainless steel and aluminium casing.

Data can be extracted using a USB flash drive, an ethernet connection or the in-built wifi-antenna. The system can also be connected to a 3g-4G modem. These connection options allow data to be viewed remotely in real time.

“The creation of the DAT WideLog is a turning point for the company,” said DAT Instruments founder Amedea Valoroso. “It is a complete and functional system that has received great interest among companies involved in special foundation activities with a focus on good execution of projects.”
