Deadline extended for GE Next Generation Awards entries

GE has announced that the deadline for entries to the GE Next Generation Awards has been extended to 18 September.

“The GE Next Generation Awards aims to celebrate the young talent in this sector and allow employers to demonstrate the opportunities and support they offer their staff by putting their best staff forward for the awards,” said GE editor Claire Smith.

“Having a workforce with the right skills is becoming a determining factor for which companies will benefit most from the rising demand in the ground engineering market. Recruiting and retaining staff is no longer just about job adverts and pay but is also now about creating brand awareness so potential employees aspire to work for a company and know that they will be involved in interesting work and valued as individuals once they join.

“If you haven’t yet spoken to the young stars within your business about the GE Next Gen event, then I would urge you to ensure they are aware of the event. If you have already identified your potential winners, then please make sure they are working on their entry.

“To allow you more time to ensure your business is represented on the 2015 shortlist, the deadline entries has been extended by two weeks so candidates now have until 18 September to submit their entries.”

Full details of how to enter - and the downloadable entry forms – can be found at www.geplus.co.uk/skills-hub There are seven categories open for entry which recognise the range of skills that are needed to push the ground engineering sector forward.
