Diaphragm walling starts on new Grand Paris Express station

sgp delaporte mg 3487

Société du Grand Paris has said that diaphragm wall work to form the box for the new Châtillon – Montrouge station has got underway.

The new station will connect Line 15 with the existing Line 13 and Tramway T6.

The panels for the station box will be excavated by grab before being extended to the final depth using a hydrofraise.

Once the cut off wall is completed, the station box will be excavated to 30m depth using top down techniques with the ground floor slab cast ahead of excavation but temporary props will be used and the lower floors cast after the tunnel boring machines have passed through the box.

The station is expected to open in 2024.
