Drone footage of the landslides triggered by the earthquake that hit Japan’s island of Hokkaido, has been uploaded on social media.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.7, hit the island on Thursday 6 September, and engulfed buildings and led to widespread powercuts.

Drone footage of the landslides across the island has been uploaded on to Facebook by Yasuykui Shimizu, a professor at the Hokkiado Universiy Hydraulic Lab.

It has been suggested that there are several hundred landslides across the island.
