EPSRC seeks infrastructure and resilience input

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has announced that it looking to recruit new members for its strategic advisory boards to help deliver innovation, economic growth or societal change.

There are a range of three-year roles available across its boards including one focusing on the civil engineering aspects of infrastructure, resilience and cities for its engineering board.

Many of the roles are aimed at academics but the role within the engineering board is open to either an academic or industry practitioner.

According to the EPSRC, the strategic advisory teams provide advice on themes for research and training strategies and, in addition to meeting up to three times a year, advocate on behalf of EPSRC on any policies or specific issues that may arise. The teams are designed to act as a sounding board for themes to inform new ideas, provide advice on key issues and offer a direct link to the research community.
