The last of 97 foundations has been installed at Dong Energy’s Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farms.
The installation of the 97 monopiles and transition pieces took five months to complete.
A noise mitigation steel sleeve and a large bubble curtain were used to ensure the foundation installation remained within the noise restrictions imposed on the project.
Trine Borum Bojsen, managing director of Dong Energy in Germany, said: “It’s a big achievement that we’ve completed this important milestone earlier than planned. I’m happy to say that we’ve installed the foundations within the noise limits imposed by the German authorities.”
When operational, Gode Wind 1 and 2, which are located in the German part of the North Sea, will have a total capacity of 582MW.
The wind farms are expected to be fully commissioned in H2 2016.
