First NERC joint call with Japan seeks environmental resilience research bids

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) has said that the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) have released their first joint call for research and are seeking bids for research into environmental resilience.

The joint call is aimed to support academic research activities to address the issues difficult to solve by a single country.

The initiative will provide £7M in funding across up to 10 three-year collaborative research projects between UK and Japanese researchers that will allow for the pursuit of shared research interests.

The call is searching for bids focused on environmental sciences, including areas such as resilience to environmental shocks and change. The call is also looking for bids from life science researchers.
