Foundations for “world’s tallest building” used as fish farm

Reports in the Chinese media suggest that the foundations for what was billed as being the world’s tallest building when work started are now being used by locals as a fish farm.

Foundations and a 2.6ha basement excavation for Sky City in Changsha were completed in 2013 but have become filled with water after work stalled on the site.

The development was led by Broad Sustainable Building, which not only claimed it would be the world’s tallest building with 202 storeys but also that it would use prefabrication techniques to complete the project in nine months.
