The countdown has started for the National Tunnelling Day 2018 on Thursday 6 December.
Organised by the British Tunnelling Society Young Members (BTSYM), the day is an opportunity for the public to catch a glimpse of the world class infrastructure projects currently being delivered by tunnelling professionals across the UK.
It also offers a chance for BTSYM members to promote the industry to children and students across the country and show them how rewarding a career in tunnelling can be.
Celebrated on the first Thursday of December to align with the Feast Day of St. Barbara, the patron saint of tunnellers, the campaign will run under the hashtag #TunnelDayUK on social media.
Firms are invited to promote the day by sharing how they contribute to tunnelling excellence in the UK through images, news items, or items of historical interest using #TunnelDayUK.
BTSYM National Tunnelling Day first started 2015 to generate interest in world class tunnelling projects being undertaken in the UK and to promote the industry to students of all ages and the general public.
