Free Fugro events to target ground risk reduction

Fugro is aiming to help construction professionals tap into cutting edge approaches to site characterisation and ground risk modelling through two free events this summer.

The seminars in Birmingham on 27 June and London on 28 June aim to demonstrate how high quality information can improve performance in safety, programme delivery, environmental impact and cost.

Aimed at infrastructure developers, consultants and contractors, the agenda will focus on the reduction of ground-related risk in construction in order to better manage project outcomes and avoid cost overruns.

Speakers with global project experience will shed light on the latest thinking and technical innovation behind effective ground investigation, providing an overview of methods for both land and shallow water sites.

Presentations will cover the benefits of dynamic site characterisation as well as boundary-pushing use of investigation methods, from geophysics, drilling and sampling, to CPT (cone penetration tests), laboratory testing and monitoring. Progress with digital data will also be discussed, including the delivery of information via online portals for instant shared access and the building of robust ground models based on multiple data streams.
