Greater understanding of the complex relationship between subsurface geology and mining legacy is promised by a free webinar event from the Coal Authority.

The online event will take place at 11am on 13 February and the hour-long session will include 15 minutes to allow the audience to put questions to the panel.

The Coal Authority’s senior account manager Andrew Simpson, water technical lead Ian Watson, project manager James Bagnall and principal contracts manager will lead the discussion on the challenges and risks with coal mining risk assessments.

According to the Coal Authority, viewers will gain a greater understanding of the coal mining legacy on land quality and the importance of full data analysis for site characterisation. During the event, the panel will demonstrate how the new Consultants Coal Mining Report can support the ground engineering industry and its clients.

The organisation hopes that the event will lead to practitioners reviewing their approach to coal mining risk assessments.

The webinar will also be available to view after the event.
