French canal project seeks geotechnical and groundwater specialist

French canal developer Canal Seine-Nord Europe has launched the tender process for geotechnical specialist to provide permeability testing and analysis support for the project.

According to the documents published in the Official Journal of the European Union, the two year framework deal with worth up to €800,000 (£684,000).

The work will involve developing waterproofing systems for the construction of the new 107km canal to link the Oise River at Compiègne with the Canal Dunkerque-Escaut, east of Arleux.

Canal Seine-Nord Europe has said that bidders for the work must be able to demonstrate experience of earthworks and geotechnical design, waterproofing, hydrogeology, hydrology and hydraulics.

Bids for the work must be submitted by 8 April.
