Netherlands-based energy network operator Tennet has appointed Fugro to undertake an unexploded ordnance (UXO) survey for an offshore wind farm development in Dutch coastal waters.

The work follows on from previous ground characterisation work undertaken by Fugro on the project.

Fugro will use its specialist vessel Atlantis Dweller which features a sub-bottom imager to undertake the work, which is due to get underway in April.

“The vessel has been specifically configured for the offshore renewables market in Europe and is ideally suited for safe and efficient UXO surveys,” said Fugro business development manager Martin Valk. “Using the vessel and the onboard technology enables us to deliver operational excellence underpinned by the highest levels of efficiency and safety.”
