Around 30t of material fell from the top of the slope

Around 30t of material fell from the top of the failed slope late on 14 February but the debris landed within the lane closures that have been in place since the initial ground movement on 30 December last year when 300t of material fell onto the carriageway.

The debris was contained by temporary concrete barriers and heavy duty fencing which were put in place last month to contain any further slips of material from the steep embankment above.

The interim measure will remain in place until the completion of rock anchoring work at the landslip site.
