Gardenstown road reopens as stabilisation gets underway

Full road access to Harbour Road in Gardenstown has been restored as contractor Bam Ritchies starts work on installation of soil nails to stabilise the landslip that led to the road closure in November last year.

Work on the project started last week with installation of instrumentation to monitor the stability of the slope and control traffic lights to close the road to traffic in the result of further ground movement.

Installation of the 6m long soil nails and steel mesh netting is expected to take seven weeks to complete.
