Construction of new terraces at Ebbsfleet United football club in Kent is now underway following work to stabilise an existing slab.
Main contractor Oakdene Construction brought in geopolymer specialist Geobear to assist on the scheme after a void was discovered under the existing concrete slab supporting the terraces.
Ebbsfleet has played at the Stonebridge Road site since 1946 and recent success in the National League has led to the club needing to expand the ground’s capacity with more stalls on its terraces.
Geobear injected expanding geopolymer resin below the slab to fill the void and increase the load bearing capacity of the slab ready for the follow on work above ground.
The ground stabilisation work was completed in two days earlier this month.
