Geotechnical consultant sought for colliery inspection role

Natural Resources Wales has started the search for a consultant to supply of services of suitably qualified and experienced civil, geological, geotechnical engineers to undertake inspections on sites to include former colliery locations.

The work, valued at £275,000 over a five year period, will involve the successful bidder in identifying potential hazards to people and property from the industrial legacy in the South Wales Valleys.

The inspections will cover former colliery locations, colliery spoil tips (both remediated and unremediated), quarries, drainage structures, buildings, retaining walls and natural landslip locations across South Wales.

Tenders for the contract must be submitted by 6 August, according to details published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
