Ground and structural monitoring specialist Geotechnical Observations has announced an extension to its Shape Accel Array (SAA) solution.
The company has said that the SAAV is the newest and most advanced model in its SAA range and was developed in response to customer feedback.
SAAs use an array of rigid segment by joints that move in any direction but do not twist. MEMS gravity sensors measure tilt in two directions and processors transform the position of each joint to produce shape and change of shape to allow displacement within an inclinometer to be analysed.
The SAAV uses a new off-the-reel cyclical installation system which inserts the SAA in a zigzag pattern into casings from 47mm to 100mm in diameter. The system is locked in place with a spring box assembly.
According to Geotechnical Observations, the SAAV is ideal for using in existing conventional inclinometer casings or for new installations into smooth casings such as reservation tubes in piles and diaphragm walls.
SAAV is available with 500mm long segments and in total lengths of up to 150m.
