GI work to begin on Australian rail upgrade

Ground investigation work is to start on the AUS$530M (£300M) Gippsland Line upgrade, in the state of Victoria.

Over the coming months, crews will drill over 50 boreholes and 120 test pits along the Gippsland Line, to inform the design and construction level crossing upgrades and track duplication to untangle bottlenecks. Additional platforms will be built at some stations.
