Gypsum mines result in pain and gain for Grand Paris Express

grand paris quarries

Grand Paris Express project promoter Société du Grand Paris has said that former gypsum mines below the city are both benefitting and adding to the complexity of the work.

Major grouting work of former mines has now got underway at the future Bagneux station site on Line 15 to safeguard the future Grand Paris Express tunnels but there are other grouting works planned around the city.

However, Société du Grand Paris has said that other former mines will be used to dispose of 4M.t of tunnelling debris.
