Highland road landslide clearance to take a week

Highland Council has said that the B9176 Struie Road at Newbridge in Ardross will be closed for at least a week while debris from a landslide is cleared and the slope stabilised.

The council has said that initial work has focused on removal of all the fallen debris, cleaning the road and preparation work for installation of barriers to prevent further debris reaching the carriageway.

Installation of the barrier is expected to take place next week to allow the route to reopen with temporary traffic lights while longer term measures are planned.
