Implenia wins Norwegian tunnel work

Implenia has announced that it has been appointed by Norwegian roads authority Statens Vegvesen to construct a new road between Sumstad and Hongsand in Norway, which includes a major tunnelled element.

The existing road between Sumstad and Hongsand is narrow and often affected by avalanches due to its exposed location but the new route will feature two tunnelled sections to provide year round protection.

The Måvik and Berfjord tunnels will be 920m and 670m long respectively, and a new section of road of just over 1km in length.
