Irish Water has placed nine contractors on its groundwater drilling framework.
The framework, which covers trial wells, production wells and post drilling testing, will run for three years with the option to extend by a further two 12 month periods.
The contractors are Doran Ground Engineering, Fogarty Drilling, Frank Seery Water Services, JS Remediation, Lenihan Well Drilling, Meehan Drilling, Patrick Briody and Sons, Priority Geotechnical and Thomas Briody And Son
For the trail wells, the contractor will be expected to undertake drilling, well development and complete groundwater exploration trial wells. Borehole diameters shall be up to 200mm internal diameter. For production wells, the contract includes drilling, well development and completion of water supply production wells in various soil conditions, where the depths of the pump chamber casing and the well are dependent on the soil conditions.
In addition, the framework requires contractors to undertake post-drilling testing, water sampling and monitoring, and surveying of existing and newly drilled boreholes/wells, with pumping tests, water quality sampling and testing. As well as camera surveys and sampling and monitoring.
