It’s #TunnelDayUK

national tunnelling day crop

Today is the third National Tunnelling Day, organised by British Tunnelling Society Young Members (BTSYM) group.

Aimed at raising public awareness of the world class infrastructure projects currently being delivered by tunnelling professionals across the UK, National Tunnelling Day will this year be promoting the profession to children and students.

The event has been using #TunnelDay on social media to promote how the industry contributes to tunnelling excellence through images, news or items of historical interest.

Since 2015 the event has grown significantly when the campaign reached 1.5M and 2.5M in 2016. This year the BTSYM is aiming to connect face to face with 1000 young people – #target1000 – and share the passion for the industry with them.

Anyone interested in getting involved can see what is happening throughout the day on twitter and facebook and should use #TunnelDayUK to get involved.
