More than 1.8M.m3 of earth will be moved by Lendlease and CPB Contractors as part of the early earthworks package for the new Western Sydney Airport in Australia.
The joint venture is expected to start work on the project, which also includes drainage work and a road realignment, by the end of the year.
The new airport is expected to open in 2026.
“The new airport will supercharge the growth of greater Sydney by attracting new businesses and supporting thousands of jobs in this area, which is already one of Australia’s most dynamic regions and home to one of the nation’s youngest and most culturally-diverse populations,” said Lendlease CEO of engineering and services Craig Laslett.
“Lendlease has a long history working and contributing to Western Sydney, many of our people call it home, and we see this as fundamentally a great fit for our business.
“This project will also allow us to extend our efforts to provide skilling, training and employment opportunities in Western Sydney where we have assisted nearly 5,000 people into employment through our regional skilling and employment centres.”
