Melbourne portal deal for Aecom, CPB and John Holland

The Victorian government has announced that a joint venture formed by Aecom, CPB Contractors and John Holland has been awarded the last major package of work on the Melbourne Metro Tunnel in Australia.

Under the AUS$1bn (£561M) rail infrastructure alliance works package, the group will build the tunnel entrances in South Yarra and Kensington for the 9km new rail link.

Site preparation for the portals is expected to start later this year and be completed by 2025.

Minister for public transport Jacinta Allan made the announcement during a visit to the Parkville Station construction site where ground engineering work is now underway.
