Mott MacDonald wins Dominica slope work

Mott MacDonald has been appointed to undertake detailed design work for repairs to landslide damaged sections of the Loubiere to Bagatelle road on Dominica following damage caused by Storm Erika in 2015.

The contract with the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica’s Ministry of Public Works and Ports will include reconstruction of nine bridges and drainage improvements in addition to the slope stability work.

The work is to be funded by a grant from the UK’s Department for International Development has been provided to Dominica through the Caribbean Development Bank.

Mott MacDonald project manager Tom Hickson said: “In addition to repairing damage caused by the tropical storm, these rehabilitation works will provide climate resilient infrastructure to support the economic and social development of the communities along the road network.”
