Sweden-based contractor NCC has been appointed by OX2 to construct the foundations and roads for a wind farm in Åndberg, Härjedalen.
Under the SEK280M (£240M) deal, NCC will build the foundations for 53 wind turbines, reinforce 30km of roads and construct just over 40km of new roads.
NCC has said that the project is being carried out in a wetlands area with considerable natural value and a great deal of birdlife and requires careful planning and project engineering to minimise the impact on animal life and nature.
“We have good experience of working with NCC in the past. I look forward to our collaboration on this project,” said OX2 construction project manager Björn Olofsson.
Construction is due to start in spring this year and the wind farm is expected to be operational by spring 2021.
